Eliodoro Matte Larrain is a Chilean billionaire businessman, president of the Chilean forestry and paper company CMPC, which he inherited from his father. Matte was born on November 5, 1945 in the family of Eliodoro Matte Ossa. He earned a bachelor's degree in civil Industrial Engineering from the University of Chile, followed by an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He is the chairman of the analytical center Centro de Estudios Públicos (CEP). Matte is married to Pilar Capdevila and they have three children: Eliodoro Matte Capdevila, Jorge Matte Capdevila and Maria del Pilar Matte Capdevila.
