Profile

Viterra Canada Inc. (formerly Viterra Inc) is a global food ingredients company poised for future opportunities. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Viterras team contributes to the companys integrated and well diversified business mix. We are committed to meeting the needs of global food manufacturers by leveraging our close relationships with farmers and our superior supply chain infrastructure. Viterra is strategically positioned in a growing global market, with predictable earnings and cash flow, a strong balance sheet, and a capital structure that supports growth. By deepening our relationships with destination customers, we will ensure we are sourcing and developing the quality ingredients they require today, and in the future. We will continue our investments in research and development to find new ways to maximize agricultural production. And we will maintain our commitment to logistical assets so we can efficiently move food ingredients from areas of abundance to areas of need. We operate in three distinct businesses: agri-products, grain handling and marketing, and value-added processing. Agri-Products Through our retail locations, Viterra provides thousands of farmers with the inputs they require to optimize their crop investment. Products and services include seed, fertilizer, crop protection products, equipment, and agronomic and financial solutions. In Canada and Australia, we have invested in research and development that focuses on new seed varieties tailored to meet the needs of destination customers and farmers. Viterras wool operation is an important link in our companys relationship with farmers in Australia. We act as a broker, direct buyer, and exporter in this industry. As well, Viterra recently expanded its wool export business to New Zealand. Grain Handling and Marketing As the largest grain handler in Canada with over 45% of the western Canadian market share, Viterras sourced and marketed grain is delivered to customers in more than 50 destination countries. We maintain an industry leading elevator network across Western Canada and port facilities in Vancouver, BC, Prince Rupert, BC, Thunder Bay, ON, and Montreal, QC. With more than 100 elevators in Australia, and eight export shipping terminals we hold a significant market share in the Australian grain market. Our growing international presence also extends to offices in Japan, Singapore, China, Vietnam, Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine, Germany, Spain and India. Processing Viterra is involved in processing oats, wheat, custom-coated grains and canola in North America. Additionally, we have malt processing in Canada and Australia, and durum processing in the United States. We are the third largest North American manufacturer and marketer of dry pasta products. As one of the worlds largest industrial oat processors, we produce quality oat products for major cereal and breakfast bar brands. We are the largest maltster in Australia, supplying major brewers in Asia and Australia. With custom mills and operations throughout Canada, the U.S., and New Zealand, Viterra provides animal feed products and nutrients to the dairy, beef, poultry, and hog industries. This provides stable, non-seasonal margins, creates end-markets for our grain, and diversifies our customer base.
