Profile

Turkiye Finans Katılım Bankası was founded following the merger of the companies Family Finans and Anadolu Finans. By Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency's Decision No. 1764 dated 28.12.2005, permission was granted for the merger of Anadolu Finans Kurumu, owned by Boydak Group, having leading companies in the furniture, home textile and cable sector, and Family Finans, owned by Ülker Group, the worldwide giant in biscuit, chocolate and various food products. Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency's Decision No. 1747 dated 30.12.2005 granted permission for the Bank to be renamed as Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası A.Ş. On 30.12.2005, procedures of the merger by transfer were completed and the merger was registered by T.R. Trade Registrar of Istanbul in accordance with the provisions of Turkish Commercial Code No. 6762. As a result, the Boydak and Ülker Groups, two leading large groups in Turkey, voluntarily combined their companies Anadolu Finans and Family Finans, serving the finance sector, on 30 December 2005 under the name of Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası to keep up with global economic conditions and to be much more serviceable to Turkey. 60% of the shares of Türkiye Finans, now serving over 1 million customers at 220 branches and with over 3,600 employees, was acquired on March 31, 2008 by The National Commercial Bank (NCB), the largest bank in Saudi Arabia and one of the leading banks in the Middle East. Further flourished by this great power combined with the Boydak and Ülker Groups under the new partnership, Türkiye Finans maintains its vision of becoming a leading participation bank.
