Panama's second largest bank Banco General Panama, established in 1955, provides a broad array of financial products and services including personal, business and private banking and trust services. Panama's Grupo Financiero BG, which owns Banco General Panama, also controls brokerage firms BG Investment, BG Valores and various non-banking companies including insurers Empresa General de Seguros and Compania Istmena de Seguros, pension fund manager Pro Futuro and leasing company Finanzas Generales.
